Engaging Opportunities Foundation provides meaningful opportunities for individuals with special needs to reach their goals and greatest potential, paving the way to long-term employment while inspiring a culture of acceptance and awareness.
Our goal is to prepare and support our employees to eventually move on to competitive employment and full integration into the local workforce. To do this, we want to provide our employees with one-on-one job training and real-life work experience consisting of not only learning the tasks of day-to-day operations, but also appropriate customer interaction and social skills through role play, resume building, interviewing skills, and independent-living skills to help our employees with disabilities make successful transitions to a productive life.
Our job trainers recognize the diverse learning needs of the individual with special needs and provide structured training to meet the individual’s learning needs. Non-traditional methods for this teaching/training include (but are not limited to): extra time, repeating return demonstrations, role play, written directions, picture directions, and other modalities as appropriate to the employee with special needs.
Our job training model strives to involve an extensive period of skills training. We use innovative adaptations to meet the unique learning needs our our employees to include long-term job coaching, and continuous feedback from job trainers.
Please consider donating to support our mission of providing job training and job opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
